Units of the Syrian Army discovered and seized Al Nusra Front’s underground tunnel in Harasta, countryside of Damascus.
The tunnel was 220 meters long, 2 meters tall, 1 meter long and was used as a smuggling route for the terrorists. The tunnel was also used to carry out attacks against the Syrian Army positions. After the cleansing was done, the Syrian Army started to move through the tunnel.
Moving through eventually allowed the Army to discover and later annihilate newly found positions of the terrorists.
The terrorists belonging to Al Nusra and Jaysh Al Islam terrorist groups are frequently attacking the neighbourhoods of Damascus from their positions as well as nearby towns and villages.
Following the liberation of Palmyra earlier on Thursday, the anti-ISIS activities continued in Deir Ez Zour province.
According to the field reports the clashes between the Syrian Army and ISIS terrorists resulted in annihilation of dozens of the terrorists as well as the destruction of the 2 of their vehicles, ammunition and equipment.
In the areas around Hill 23 and Mount Al Therdh the Syrian Air Force carried out new strikes which resulted in deaths of dozens of the terrorists.
Local sources confirmed the death of Abu Julaybib Al Yamani, a terrorist who was killed in the town of Abu Kamal, east of Deir Ez Zour. Syrian forces also destroyed an ISIS vehicle on Al Fayhaa square.
As the ISIS terrorists are on the verge of collapse in Deir Ez Zour, they are frequently shelling the safe residential areas of the city with mortars and missiles in order to put pressure on the residents.
