Pleas put forward by Opposition protesters have not been left unheard, says Kremlin Press Secretary Dimitry Peskov.

He asserted that in some cities, permits for the civil action had been granted and were carried out in strict accordance with the law. In this case, he stated, messages and criticism toward the Government have been taken into account.

Peskov did not elaborate on any numbers as to those taking part in the protests. "The Kremlin has analysed the events coherently, and does not intend on estimating a smaller number of attendees, nor magnifying that figure."

Russia's President was informed of the protests, Peskov confirmed - "However, the civil action that took place in the city of Moscow was unsanctioned. This too was relayed to the President."
