Reports in the French media are saying that hackers broke into the official Facebook site of the French president François Hollande.
For about an hour, Hollande’s Facebook page was displaying an invitation to his farewell party, scheduled for the 7th of May.
Initial reports claimed that the group named “For the Resignation of François Hollande” was behind the incident, however, the group itself later denied the involvement.
On April 23rd, close to 47 million voters in France will have the opportunity to cast their votes in the first round of the presidential elections. The second round is scheduled to take place on the 7th of May. Benoît Hamon, François Fillon and Marine Le Pen are often named as the potential winners of this year's presidential elections.
François Hollande will not participate as a nominee, due to low popularity.
