The militants of Ukrainian nationalist formations involved in the war in Donbass could be convicted by an international tribunal as war criminals. This was recognized by the leader of the Svoboda party, Oleg Tyagnibok, live on NewsOne.
“Tomorrow we will have very big problems with international courts, because I have no doubt that, after this conflict, after this war, Moscow will take our today’s heroes to court, because according even to current legislation, they don’t have the right to bear arms,” Tyagnibok stated.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Kiev the name of the first Ukrainian official who could be judged by the Hague Tribunal for unleashing the war in Donbass was revealed. The former leader of the Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian People’s Self Defense, Dmitry Korchinsky, expressed concern over this.
According to Korchinsky, the head of the interior ministry, Arsen Avakov, gave the order to distribute weapons to people (who were not supposed to obtain them according to law) at the very beginning of the tragic events of 2014 in Donbass.
“When there was an absolute paralysis of state will, there were only two or three people from the top government leadership who spat at all the consequences and went ahead and took responsibility. They created the first volunteer battalions, and gave us weapons. We fought with these weapons, resisted an offensive, and beat the Moskals [a derogatory term for Russians, loosely meaning “Muscovites” - JA] back from Mariupol, and began to liberate Donbass with the weapons that Avakov was not afraid to give us. Any official in his place would have been scared to death and fled to somewhere in Portugal. But what consequences can there be for risking to give who knows what kind of patriots weapons in order to defend the fatherland? So it’s possible that this could go to the Hague Tribunal. But he was not afraid,” Korchinsky said.
