At the administration of the president, a rally of UAF military personnel’s families is being held which is trying to draw authorities’ and the media’s attention to problems of servicemen’s contracts.

The protesters demanded that the president sign a decree on demobilizing the sixth wave and adopt a law which would provide for the timely termination of contracts.

“We see the psychological state of soldiers’ families who don’t even know how long they still have to fight,” Valentina, a sister of a contract soldier, stated. “We do not know how long we have to wait. My brother has already been on the frontline, almost constantly, for two years. We demand that the president sign bill No. 4689 which will show that our boys are not slaves. We demand that this slavery of the 21st century be abolished.”

“Either stop the war, which is in your power, or put the yoke on your own children,” Larisa, a relative of a solider, said. “Those guys whose homes were taken in Lugansk and Donetsk are now standing on the defense so as to not let those bastards here, so that people here can live peacefully.”

In addition, protesters said that officers and soldiers should have confidence in their status and service time, knowing that they have the right to terminate contracts or renew them of their own accord.
