Ukrainian roads are in a catastrophic state, but there are no funds for major repairs, the prime minster of the country, Vladimir Groysman, stated, as TASS reports.
“Now, this absolutely impossible for our state,” he noted, commenting on the situation with road repairs.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure, Vladimir Omelyan, reported that no new roads will not be built this year.
In February, 2016 the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development provided Ukraine with a loan for $560 million to develop the road sector. The funds were supposed to be use for modernizing the Poltava-Valki M-03 road from Kiev to Kharkov and Dovzhansky. In addition, these funds were provided for the purchase of consultive services for designing automatic truck weighing systems and charging transporters for using roads.
