Hundreds of people have staged a rally against the military mission of the OSCE in Donetsk. Participants of the protest action gathered near the headquarters of the international organization in the center of Donetsk.
Among the demonstrators are residents of Donetsk, Khartsyzsk, Elenovka, and Yasinovataya. The protesters say that the work of the international observers cannot be regarded as satisfactory. In their words, they blame the Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE for inactivity despite the growing number of bombardments of DPR residential areas.
The head of the Donetsk office of the Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE, Olga Skripovskaya, came to the rally and listened to statements by the representatives of those gathered. She remarked that “the mission is doing everything it can.”
“After two weeks, we will hold another protest if the situation in frontline areas does not change,” Skripovskaya was told by one of the activists.
“We understand the frustration of people who have been living in the conflict zone for two years already,” Skripovskaya said to journalists, “We are always ready and we will clarify issues related to our mandate.”
On Friday evening, the commander of the DPR’s operative command, Denis Sinenkov, reported that the situation on the front line is deteriorating. Over the course of the week, Ukrainian troops shelled frontline territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic 2086 times.
