The Ukrainian servicewoman Nadezhda Savchenko, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison in the Russian Federation for the murder of VGTRK journalists in Donbass, is filling out documents for extradition, the Ukrainian’s lawyer Mark Feygin stated.
“Nadezhda Savchenko received extradition documents yesterday. This is a series of papers which are to be filled out by a supervising prosecutor at the location of the person under consideration which accord with the convention on the extradition of convicts. Savchenko has begun to fill them out and will finish this work tomorrow with my colleague Nikolay Polozov, “ Feygin is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
In his opinion, after extradition to Ukraine Savchenko will not serve her sentence, as she has immunity from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The Russian side has not yet commented on this information.
