Translated for Fort Russ by Soviet Bear
The Russian Defense Ministry has signed a contract with the "Uralvagonzavod" company to supply 100 T-14 “Armata" tanks.
"We have a contract for 100 tanks", — said the Deputy Minister of defense of Russia Yuri Borisov.
Borisov also noted that the Ministry of Defense of Russia is pleased with the new tank, but is not going “to boost its purchases”.
"We have good modernization potential for the T-72", — he added.
The prospective T-14 "Armata" tank is a Russian main battle tank, and was first presented at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow in 2015.
The tank has an armoured capsule for the crew and an active protection system capable of intercepting any anti-tank missiles.
