The Russian Foreign Ministry is engaged in the study of the materials from the TV channel RT on the situation of Turkish Kurds. This was stated by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
"I would really like to say that RT asked Sergey Lavrov about the issue of investigating the crimes against the Kurds. We requested information from the channel, and it was provided. Our experts will review the materials, we will then share our estimates," – said Maria Zakharova.

In February 2016, Kurdish activists accused the Turkish troops of massacring hundreds of civilians who were sheltering in the basements of houses in the town of Cizre. It is reported that about 150 people were burned alive.
The film crew of the channel RT went to Cizre to get eyewitness accounts first hand. The journalists were shown where the alleged mass murder was committed. The RT crew managed to film the destroyed house, the traces of blood, and fragments of shells. The witness reported that among the victims were women and children, some of them not older than 10 years old.
RT has appealed to the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, ICRC, and other international organizations, providing them with their materials, however none of them commented on the merits, citing various reasons.
RT has created a petition that intends to gain the public's attention and call for an independent international investigation under the leadership of the Council for Human Rights of the UN in relation to the alleged mass killing of Kurds in Southeast Turkey.
