The frontman of the American rock group The Eagles of Death Metal, Jesse Hughes, has apologized for his claim that the guards of the "Bataclan" concert hall probably knew about the impending attack in Paris. A message appeared on the personal page of the musician on Facebook.

The band  The Eagles of Death Metal performed at the "Bataclan" on the evening of 13th November 2015, when the room was breached and armed terrorists took hostages. Reminiscing about the events in an interview with Fox Business Network, Hughes said, on the day of the attack six security guards of the concert hall didn't come to work.

"I think it's pretty obvious that they had a reason to not appear," the musician noted.

To protect their employees, the owners of "Bataclan" called Hughes' words "rude and slanderous", whilst also noting that "all collected evidence suggests that the guards acted professionally and courageously". In the end, Hughes had to apologize.

"I humbly apologize to the people of France, officers and employees of the security service of "Bataclan", my fans, my family, friends, and all others who have been offended by my absurd statements that I made in an interview with Fox Business Channel," wrote Hughes.

The musician admitted that his accusations were unfounded, but in his defense, he noticed that he is still under stress after experiencing the nightmare.

As a reminder, on the night of 13th November, terrorists opened fire on civilians in several districts of Paris, with the "Stade de France" stadium, which was hosting a match between the football teams of France and Germany, being rocked by three explosions organized by suicide bombers. The number of victims of the attacks totalled 129 people. The terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for what happened.
