The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, said that he considers the halting of Ukrainian trucks on the territory of the Russian Federation illegal. He noted that Ukraine appealed to Russia with a letter demanding to know why such a decision was made.
"Ukraine acts exclusively within the framework and in a manner that is defined by our international obligations. The Russians wrongly stated that they will prohibit the entry of Ukrainian trucks in the Russian Federation. Ukraine appealed with a letter in Russian for them to explain on what basis this decision was made", — quotes RIA Novosti from the words of Yatsenyuk.
He noted that Kiev is not going to miss the Russian trucks on its territory. "Whilst Russia will not give a clear answer and this question remains unresolved, the temporary transit permit will be revoked. I demand to withdraw the decision to ban the movement of transit goods on the territory of the Russian Federation", — said Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Earlier today, the Ukrainian government decided to suspend the transit of Russian trucks through territory of the country. As a reminder, last week the illegal blocking of trucks carrying goods from the Russian Federation on the entry into Ukraine was reported. In response, Russia imposed restrictions on the movement of freight vehicles, registered in Ukraine, on the territory of the Russian Federation.
