The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, is expecting the final EU decision on the Visa-free regime for Ukrainians. He declared this on air of one of Ukrainian TV channels.
According to him, the European Commission proved that Ukraine has met all the criteria for establishing a Visa-free regime with the EU, which, in addition to free movement of goods under the FTA agreement, means the free movement of Ukrainians.
"Now regarding European citizens without Visas crossing the Ukrainian border, we expect the final decision of the European Union concerning a visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine", – said Yatsenyuk.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had previously stated that he is sure that in 2016 Ukraine will receive Visa-free travel to the EU. He also stressed that he expects to get on the "white Schengen list", which includes countries ranging from South Korea, Mexico, Uruguay, Caribbean Islands.
In mid-December 2015, the European Commission had published a report to examine the possibility of Visa-free regime for Ukraine, Georgia and Kosovo.
