The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, understands that the special status of Donbass will never pass in Parliament
This was announced by MP of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko.
"Poroshenko doesn't know what to do with Donbass, so he has had to freeze this question. He's waiting for something to happen: Perhaps Merkel will extend sanctions against Russia for 10 years, maybe something will happen with Putin. He understands that neither the amendments to the Constitution required for the special status of Donbass, nor the decentralization proposed in the existing bill, will gain 300 votes. Forget about the special status of Donbass, it will never pass in Parliament", — said Tomenko.
On the day before, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a decision to change the rules. This allowed the consideration of the bill on amendments to the Constitution concerning decentralization to be deferred.
As a reminder, earlier the Deputy of the People's Council DPR, Vladislav Brig, said that the return of the republics within the Ukrainian State, while the current Kiev authorities are in power, will not happen.
