Militants of the "Azov" battalion, participating in the blockade of the Crimea, are conducting organized daily patrols in the Henichesk district, Kherson region. Patrolling is carried out in vehicles in Henichesk city and nearby villages in the daytime and at night. According to the militants, they fear the activation of separatist sentiment in the region.
In turn, the head of Henichesk district state administration, Oleksandr Vorobyov, has confirmed this information.
"They were officially transferred to us by the decree of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they patrol and help to restore order in the region", – said Vorobyov.
It should be noted that officials of law enforcement refused to comment on such activities of the so-called activists. As a reminder, on January 18th, in the Kherson region, a Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion was created. According to the statement of one of leaders of the unrecognized Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Lenur Islyamov, about 250 people have already enrolled in the department. The battalion will be part of the National Guard of Ukraine.
