The Russian Defence Ministry has commented on the statement about the Pentagon’s refusal to share information concerning ISIS targets with Russia until Moscow’s position with regard to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has changed.

The statement made by the US Defense Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Michelle Baldanza concerning the refusal to enter cooperation in the course of fighting against ISIS is just a used subject, which is to be changed.

In the course of the recent briefing held by Chief of the Main operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoy, the Defence Ministry demonstrated photo and video results of the operation held in Syria and aimed to eliminate the ISIS sources of income from Syrian oil trafficking to Turkey.

Special attention was paid and it was demonstrated that ISIS had changed routes of oil trafficking from Syria to Turkey and laid them through northwestern regions of Iraq, which the US is focused on.

The Russian defence department attracted the attention of American colleagues by stating the necessity of real actions in order to terminate income sources of terrorists active in the region but not just discuss activity of the ISIS in Iraq. However, the thrice-told thesis by Michelle Baldanza has proven once again that the Pentagon will only verbally continue fighting against ISIS, and not in actuality.

Recently, the US Defense Department Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Michelle Baldanza stated “We are not going to cooperate with Russia on Syria until they change their strategy of supporting Assad and instead focus on ISIL”.
