"There is a real humanitarian disaster in Crimea" — Rustam Temirgaliev, the former deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea

Commenting on the situation with the energy blockade of Crimea and cutting the power lines by Ukrainian-Tatar radicals, Russian [Crimean Tatar] politician criticized the actions of local authorities.

"Unfortunately, the local authorities were absolutely not prepared for a blackout, having done almost nothing over the last year.

Many residents don't have gas, water or information.

Tomorrow "the feds" from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Emergency situations of the Russian Federation will begin to take the situation under control, providing the peninsula with additional generators, fuel and optimizing the schedule of the rolling blackouts" — said Temirgaliev.

According to the politician, the resumption of energy supply of the peninsula should be expected not earlier than in three weeks.

"The lights will appear in Crimea by December 16-17 when the first flows will come through the strait, providing 2/3 of the demand," - said former first deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.

KR: I am sure most Crimean residents would rather choose to lose electricity for a couple weeks then be subjected to Ukrainian phosphorous bombs as residents of Donbass. How exactly Crimean Tatars benefit from a loss of electricity is unclear.
